Attendance data can be tracked in VerticalChange through the lefthand navigation section called Attendance.

Clicking on Attendance will bring up a list of all currently active sessions at your agency.

To view past or upcoming sessions, click Show inactive sessions at the top left.

The active session grid shows details about each session, including: Session Name, Group Name, Start and End times, Start and End dates, count of Students Enrolled, and count of days with Missing Attendance.

To view or update attendance for a session, click on a Session Name.

Clicking on the session's name will redirect you to the session's Attendance view.

In the Attendance view, you can track each student’s status on a daily basis.

Navigate between days of attendance by clicking on the date field at the top right of the page and selecting a new date.

Or you can click on the Previous day and Next day buttons to move the attendance page to different dates.

To track present attendance, mark a student as Attended

The student’s Start Time and End Time default to the Start Time and End Time indicated in their enrollment, but you can select a new time, if the child arrived or left at a different time that day.

To track an absent attendance, select an option under “Absent Reason”.

You can also track notes for both present and absent children.

Once all children are marked as present or have an absent reason, click the Submit Attendance button at the bottom.

You will now see that your attendance has been submitted. You can update the attendance by changing information and clicking the Update Attendance button.

To track a holiday (a day when school would normally be in session but is not, such as Memorial Day), click the Is holiday? checkbox at the top of the attendance list. You can do so via the daily or weekly tab:

This will grey-out all students in the list so that you cannot track their attendance.

You may choose to enter a reason for the holiday or closure. Click the blue submit button to log the holiday. Holidays may also be added ahead of time from the session itself when the session is created or by editing an existing session.

If a child has left or been removed from a session, you can exit them directly from the attendance screen. Click on Exit beside their attendance row, on the far right. You will then need to enter their Exit Reason and Exited At date, then click Save, to exit the child.

To track attendance on a different session, click on the Attendance section in the left navigation bar to get back to the list of all sessions.
